Joyce and I attended the Aluminum Cans
for Burned Children 2014 Summer Camp on
Saturday. It was a great time seeing
many of our old friends and,
fortunately, not a lot of new friends.
And that is meant in a good way. It
seems that through the continuing
efforts made by local Fire
Prevention Officers and, in part, our
efforts, the number of severely burned
children is experiencing a drop in
numbers compared to years past!
While we were only there for one
afternoon, the burn camp will continue
into this week with a long list of
experiences for the kids. While we were
there we "partook" in face painting (we
just watched this one), limbo dancing,
caricature drawing, the "Fire Truck
Pizza" truck, the ice cream social (we
DID enjoy this part), and Joyce was
presented with a "Love" painting from
one of the campers. I've attached a few
photos.
So, Loopers, pat yourselves on the
back for the $2,500.00 check that we
presented to ACBC from LEL-XI.
